Sarah Felkin (Owner)
Sarah has 17 years experience of business environments and understands the challenges of being a mum and juggling work. Sarah has a business & finance qualification and has spent the last 12 years working for a large Shropshire business, where she gained a range of experience from Customer Service, IT, Sales & Marketing, Recruitment and mentoring teams. Sarah has lived in Shropshire since her early teens and is married with a daughter called Ella. She recently moved to a small local village and enjoys being part of a thriving rural community.
Deb Lovell (Owner)
Deb has 20 years nursing experience most recently as a Practice Nurse. As part of this role she was involved with health promotion and education. Deb has always been a ‘foodie’ and from her career experience has developed a special interest in promoting healthy choices. In addition she has extensive experience of managing minor ailments & injuries. Deb is married with 2 girls, (Gracie & Alice), and moved to Shropshire 9 years ago. She moved to bring up her children in a rural area and to allow her family to embrace everything the countryside has to offer from growing their own food, raising chickens and collecting various animal waifs along the way!
Heidi Evans (Joint Officer in Charge)
Heidi has been working with children since she qualified with her NNEB in 1996. For 15 years, she worked as a Nursery Manager in a local Montessori nursery. Over the years, she has completed her SENCO (special educational needs) training and gained a NVQ level 3. She is committed to broadening her experience and knowledge and has attended many other courses from Safeguarding, First Aid, and Behaviour Management. She meets regularly with other professionals attending forums and updates for education, enabling her to keep up to date with ever changing legislation and enhancing good practice within in the team.
Becoming a mum herself has given Heidi a real empathy of how it feels to entrust someone with your most precious possession.
Daniella Poole (Elves Room Leader)
Danni qualified from Yale College with a bilingual Level 3 Childcare and Education qualification. Danni speaks fluent Welsh and uses this to support children where Welsh is their first language. Danni has experience of baby, toddler and pre-school rooms. When Little Pixies opened Danni started work for us as a Nursery Nurse and has worked hard to gain new skills and progressed with us. Danni is currently studying for her Level 3 – Leadership and Management qualification. She has attended a variety of courses including Makaton, First Aid, EYFS and Development Matters. Her role at Little Pixies is working in the Elves Room and to support Heidi in mentoring other team members and leading good practice.
Sherry Norcross (Joint Officer in Charge/Baby & Toddler Room Leader)
Sherry qualified as a Level 3 practitioner in 2006 and has been working in Early Years since 1998. In previous settings Sherry has held senior positions at Management Level and has been intrinsic in the day-to-day running and staff mentorship of these nurseries. Sherry joined Little Pixies at the start of 2014 and her role has been to lead the Imps & Sprites rooms with our youngest children. She has a mature, calm and positive approach which comes from raising 3 of her own children. Sherry is also responsible for Behaviour Management at Little Pixies and works closely with Heidi and Danni to support children and families.
Donna Glover (Deputy Baby & Toddler Room Leader)
Donna is a Level 3 practitioner in Childcare, and she has attended a variety of courses over the years to enhance her practice and knowledge such as First Aid, Child Protection and Makaton Sign Language. She has also gained experience and knowledge of working with children with special needs and supporting children with speech and language difficulties. Donna has experience of working with all age groups from the youngest to pre-school. She is also a Mum to Lewis and recently got married.
Sian Kettle (Nursery Nurse)
Sian is a Level 3 practitioner in Childcare, and she has attended a variety of courses over the years to enhance her practice and knowledge such as First Aid and Child Protection. Sian previously worked in a Welsh pre-school and is a fluent welsh speaker.
Helen Byrne (Early Years Practitioner)
Helen has recently joined the team at Little Pixies in the Elves Room. Helen works 3 days a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Helen is an experienced practitioner who holds the following qualifications, BA Hons English Studies, PGCE Early Years Education (3-7 years) and Early Years Professional Status (EYP). In her previous role Helen jointly led a Pre-school in South Shropshire. Helen has 3 sons aged 13, 11 & 9.
Lorraine Doveston (Nursery Nurse) Currently on Mat leave
Lorraine joined the Elves team in March 2015 and is a qualified Level 2 practitioner . Lorraine has gained many years experience working with young children in care, whilst in this position she has gained an understanding of working with children with additional needs including challenging behaviours.
Nikki Roberts (Nursery Nurse)
Nikki is a mum of young twins and got to know Little Pixies when her own children attended the nursery. Her calm, caring, thoughtful approach naturally led her to working with our babies and toddlers. She was worked at Little Pixies since 2012 gaining lots of experience in our Baby, Toddler & Pre-school Rooms. Nikki’s children started school in September 2015 and she has just gained her Level 2 qualification and works in all rooms at Little Pixies.
Natalie Ingham (Nursery Nurse)
Natalie joined the team November 2015 and is working upstairs with our Imps and Sprites children. Natalie holds a Level 3 childcare qualification and has gained over 4 years experience working in early years settings. She has a patient and calm approach and enjoys nurturing our youngest children to enable them to feel settled and confident.
Jodie Honicke (Nursery Nurse)
Jodie joined the team January 2016 and is working with our pre-school children in the Elves Room. Jodie has a BA Hons in Early Childhood Education which she completed at Birmingham University in the summer of 2015. Before joining Little Pixies she worked at the Wrekin Forest School leading small groups of children in various outdoor activities.
